Juno film opening and Evaluation

This task was to recreate the film opening from the commonly know film called Juno, I will quickly summaries the plot of the film. A tale told over four seasons, starting in autumn when Juno, a 16-year-old high-school junior in Minnesota, discovers she's pregnant after one event in a chair with her best friend, Bleeker. In the waiting room of an abortion clinic, the quirky and whip-sharp Juno decides to give birth and to place the child with an adoptive couple. She finds one in the Penny Saver personals, contacts them, tells her dad and step-mother, and carries on with school. The chosen parents, upscale yuppies (one of whom is cool and laid back, the other meticulous and uptight), meet Juno, sign papers, and the year unfolds. Will Juno's plan work, can she improvise, and what about Bleeker? The film is one of my favorite films, and portrays the journey of a young girl taking on the big responsibility of being pregnant.

In evaluation of our opening I believe the filming was successful considering it was our first attempt, we were able to replicate the different shots of the real Juno film opening. Our storyboard was very accurate and enabled us to have a set outline of positions and angles that we would need to illustrate. This was exceedingly helpful when deciding what props and overall setting was needed for our filming as accurate as we possibly could with the resources available. Our main strengths was working as a team to conclude on how we would present our work, unfortunately our weakness could possibly be our amateur editing abilities; which left certain scenes slightly out of sink. we were able to muster up every bit of footage we needed and comprised it into one short video. In retrospect to this i would potentially take my time with the filming to become more of a perfectionist and I will definitely include some time consistently using Adobe Premiere to boost my skills with this particular software.

Big Budget VS Small Budget

One of my favorite trilogies is that of 'The Hobbit' it is the follow of the LOTR franchise which was also exceedingly thrilling. The basic plot of the hobbit is Bilbo and the Company of King Thorin Oakenshield are forced into war by the Orcs of Gundabad and Moria lead by Azog and Bolg and chief leader Sauron. Its a remarkable battle with the Dwarves of Erebor and the Iron Hills, The Elves of the Woodland Realm, The people of Laketown, The eagles lead by Radagast and Beorn and the Orcs of Gundabad and Moria.

This film had one of the most expensive budgets of all time. The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies will have made around $90 million less worldwide than it otherwise would have thanks to a rising dollar and plunging foreign currencies. So barring the above-noted foreign exchange issues, the third and final Peter Jackson Hobbit film would have crossed $1 billion at the worldwide box office. But "sadly" it sits at $939m worldwide and it may not make it to the milestone. But whether or not the film makes it over the hump, the Hobbit trilogy has been incredibly successful on a domestic and worldwide stage. The three-film trilogy cost around $765m to produce and made $2.916b worldwide thus far. Yet no one seems to have paid it much attention. This is as good a time to remind everyone that the Middle Earth prequel trilogy may have been an artistic disappointment, but it was an unmitigated financial grand-slam for all parties. From my research I have discovered that there was an estimated budget of 250 million USD, which is a substantial and unbelievable amount of money.
Alternatively, there are low budget films such as ' A Nightmare On Elms Street' which can be summed up to Nancy Thompson and a group of her friends including Tina Gray, Rod Lane and Glen Lantz are being tormented by a clawed killer in their dreams named Freddy Krueger. Nancy must think quickly, as Freddy tries to pick off his victims one by one.

The original A Nightmare on Elm Street had a budget of just $1.8M and some of its special effects, though convincing at the time, look shoddy today. It's the simplest touches which still have an impact, however - Freddy's ghostly face leering out of the wall above a sleeping Nancy, the "eeeeeee" sound of the knives on metal objects, and the red-and-green striped hood coming down over the car at the end, these all were the main aspects of its success which can be accumulated as a whopping $25,504,513; the biggest success in horror film history.

Film Pitch and Evaluation

This task involved my specifically chosen group randomly picking a genre, we got a disaster movie which is defined as a film genre that has an impending or ongoing disaster as its subject and primary plot device. such disasters include natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes or asteroid collisions, accidents such as shipwrecks or airplane crashes, or calamities such as worldwide disease pandemics.

Lost from Samuel Hooper

This was our film pitch which we introduced and inevitably presented to the class, this was the overall feedback we received. For our film pitch, we got a lot of positive feedback among our audience with only 2 people from the group saying that they would not buy the film, but 20 people from the group said that they would. Many people thought that the film title was cliche as it has been used before in a television series, but they also said that is was short and catchy. Somebody also said that the film would be interesting to watch because it sounds like it would be full of cliff hangers which would keep the teenage boys interested and enticed in the plot line. Lots of feedback suggested that the actors that we chose were developed and relatable/likable, but they were also criticized because they seemed typical. somebody said "The moments of action and drama will engage the viewers" which is a very positive response , especially for the disaster film we have created.

My Production Logo- First Draft

This is my film logo which should be presented in every production that I illustrate. Now I will explain the basic nature of a production company and its overall purpose in the film universe. The production company may be directly responsible for fundraising for the production or may accomplish this through a parent company, partner, or private investor. It handles budgeting, scheduling, scripting, the supply with talent and resources, the organization of staff, the production itself, post-production, distribution, and marketing.

Production companies are often either owned or under contract with a media conglomerate, film studio, entertainment company, or Motion Picture Company, who act as the production company's partner or parent company. This has become known as the "studio system". They can also be mainstream, independent (Lucasfilms), or completely independent (Lionsgate). In the case of television, a production company would serve under a television network. Production companies can work together in co-productions.

Audience

I believe that the media creates the overall content, with major influences from the audience. Without the audience the media would be unable the create the initial content and this information would be practically useless if there was no one to present it to. The media is particularly influential, We have an inherent hunger for information, a curiosity about life and our interests. Media is only as influential as each person allows it to be in their life. Each person must take responsibility for their own attitudes to and use of, or disregard of, the information provided by the media.

The film industry or motion picture industry comprises the technological and commercial institutions of film making.

Here is a list of my all time favorite films, they consist of new and old films. Independence day is my top favorite because it illustrates a perfect action film, its also surprisingly comical and constantly leaves me in hysterics.

These are the definitions of a film, movie and the cinema. I originally didn't have the knowledge to source this, but after some revision this is what I created. These terms all seemed very similar to each other, but after a sufficient amount of research you can understand the clear definitions.

Blog Reflection

I found blogging quite enjoyable because it allows me to evaluate my media lessons and find the potential for improvements. I am looking forward to gaining important media knowledge, so that I can use it for my upcoming PPE (pre-public examinations). Media undoubtedly consumes much of my every day life, I cannot remember a single day where I have not checked my phone or gone on certain social media apps such as Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat. There is also hardly a day where I do not watch at least a bit of television and go on my laptop to watch videos on Youtube. I am obviously exposed to all these different forms of media in my every day life, which really affects who I am as a person and how I perceive the world. Although I sometimes wish I was more sociable rather then being constantly connected to the technology of the modern era.
