Kings Of Summer Review
I have just watched the film 'Kings Of Summer' for the very first time, I found it particularly emotional to watch, as it portrayed the difficulties of romance when mixed with a strong friendship; I do not relate to this but if I did i'm sure I would have a similar response. Here is a brief summary of the film, The Kings of Summer. The Kings of Summer (originally Toy's House) is a 2013 American independent coming-of-age comedy-drama film that premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. It stars Nick Robinson, Moisés Arias, Gabriel Basso, and Nick Offerman. The actors each played their part extraordinarily well because I really felt the deeper feelings involved with the story.
The basic plot can be summed up as Joe Toy, on the verge of adolescence, finds himself increasingly frustrated by his single father, Frank's attempts to manage his life. Declaring his freedom once and for all, he escapes to a clearing in the woods with his best friend, Patrick, and a strange kid named Biaggio. He announces that they are going to build a house there, free from responsibility and parents. Once their makeshift abode is finished, the three young men find themselves masters of their own destiny, alone in the woods. From the picture above I enjoyed the comedy based depiction of the character, compared to his appearance in 'Ender's Game' where he played a polar opposite character.
